Before We Get Started
Everything you need to know to help your project go smoothly from start to finish.
Site Preparations
When we build our units, we put them on pressure-treated skis. This makes them portable, easy to position, and increases airflow underneath to extend their lifespan. You won’t need to do much prep—typically a gravel base or a few 12" x 12" patio stones will do the trick.
One thing we always tell people: it’s your responsibility to ensure the product and its placement comply with local by-laws. We don’t handle property lines or zoning issues, so double-checking with your municipality keeps everything simple and stress-free.
If you’re ever unsure about anything—we’re here to answer questions, clear things up, or point you in the right direction. We’ve done enough builds to know the tricky spots, and we want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Deliveries
A few things we like you to consider ahead of time:
Driveway
The ground needs be firm or stone-based to prevent the delivery vehicle from getting stuck.
Clearance
We recommend at least two feet of extra width around the unit and 15 feet of height clearance to allow for safe delivery and placement.
Manoeuvring
We ask that all paths and turns be clear of obstacles before delivery.
Exit Space
We need enough clear space in front of the unit for our truck to pull straight out after delivery—about 50 to 150 feet, depending on the site.
Placement
Before delivery, let us know how you’d like the unit oriented on the trailer, such as doors facing forward or backward.
Additional Info
We deliver to Kingston, Brockville, Cornwall, Arnprior, Ottawa, Rockland, and all across Cottage Country. In a lot of local areas, delivery is free, so it’s worth asking. If you’re not sure whether your spot is covered, just give us a shout—we’re happy to walk you through the options.
Permits & Approvals
Before delivery or installation, it’s the property owner’s responsibility to ensure all necessary permits and municipal approvals are in place. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Zoning compliance
- Property line and setback requirements
- Local building or structure permits
We do not assume responsibility for securing permits or ensuring compliance. Any fines, delays, or modifications required due to missing approvals are the responsibility of the property owner.
